Oculus held a keynote at something called Oculus Connect last night with several announcements regarding their Virtual Reality headset. One of them was that Minecraft will be coming to the format. This was announced by Oculus VR CEO Palmer Luckey, and the release date was narrowed down to sometime next spring.
Now if you've been following Minecraft and Oculus Rift stories you will know that Marcus "Notch" Persson, creator of Minecraft, once pledged $10,000 to the Oculus kickstarter. He was not very happy when the deal with Facebook was announced and so he discontinued the VR version of Minecraft. Of course, since then Notch made his exit from Mojang, selling the company to Microsoft and with Microsoft and Oculus VR striking deals (like including the Xbox One controller with every sold copy of Oculus Rift) it is perhaps no surprise that Minecraft will now support Oculus Rift in the end.
