Every time a major shooter is nearing release certain questions inevitably pop up. Will the game have dedicated servers? The highly anticipated Star Wars Battlefront is no exception, and recently fans got their answer.

The short story is yes, the game will feature dedicated servers, even though it won't have a traditional server browser like the Battlefield games. Instead developer DICE aims to introduce a new matchmaking system, but apparently they are open for dedicated servers all the same.

The confirmation came during Tokyo Game Show last week, where senior producer Jamie Keen attended:

"We'll still have dedicated servers. Absolutely," he told Playstation Lifestyle. "It's one of the hallmarks of making sure we deliver an unparalleled online service for the game."

Normally the addition of dedicated servers improves the general stability of a game, as they eliminate the need for the developers to carry all traffic through their own hardware. Star Wars Battlefront is scheduled for release on November 17th on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
