Deep Silver has announced that Dead Island: Epidemic, the publisher's zombie-filled MOBA (or ZOMBA as they called it), is set to close down next month on October 15.
In an open letter to fans posted over on Steam, the development team signed off by thanking players for their participation through closed and open beta testing.
The developers also offered a discount so players can spend any remaining currency before servers are shut down next month, so there's opportunity to try out previously unknown characters and items.
"Over the past weeks and months we've been evaluating how to proceed with Dead Island: Epidemic and looking towards the future for the game," a studio rep posted on Steam. "We're sad to announce today that we've come to the conclusion to cease further development."
