Ubisoft have decided to stop putting manuals into the boxes of their PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 games. Instead the games themselves will come with proper instructions. According to the company, the energy needed to produce a ton of printed manuals is enough to heat a house for a full year.
Also, Ubisoft plan to introduce a new DVD-box made in a plastic more friendly to the environment than the current ones. The first game that will be released in this kind of box is the PC version of Splinter Cell: Conviction, while the first game to be released without a manual is Shaun White Skateboarding (which is planned for a holiday release this year). The Wii-games will keep their manuals, for some reason. Cynical, and probably bitter, minds will wonder why.
