Steven Holcomb won the Olympic gold medal in Vancouver in the men's 4-men bobsled event and he has been a high ever since then. That is, until this week, when his Xbox 360 and 27 games got stolen out of his car.
In speaking with Cnet, Holcomb, had the following to say:
"It's like a death in the family, at least for me being single with no kids."
"Well, considering I'm a volunteer and I don't have any possessions, this was a huge loss. I have a 1990 Honda Accord, a simple Netbook, a bunch of clothes, and an Xbox. What I have lost is equivalent to losing your house, and all the furniture inside. This is devastating, I'm a huge gamer without a game."
Holcomb, who typically would play a game until the last few hours and savour those for later had hundreds of hours worth of save files that he has now lost. Some of his favourite titles were: Halo 3: ODST, Fable II, and The Orange Box. Here's hoping Microsoft picks up on this and helps an Olympic hero out...
