A price cut for PS4 was announced this morning during Sony's press conference ahead of Tokyo Game Show. So far it only seems to be effective in Japan, but it may point to a future price reduction in Europe.
Starting October 1, the PS4 console will be listed at 34,980 yen instead of the current 39,980 recommended retail price. The reduction means about £27, leaving the system at around £190 (without taxes). Clearly this leaves some room to lower the price in this region, however that remains purely speculative at this point.
What is confirmed is the launch of the two new DualShock 4 controller models (see pictures below), also announced at the press conference. Gold and Silver versions of DualShock 4 will be out soon, and no price details have been shared, but presumably they'll retail close to the price of a black DualShock 4.
