Nintendo has revealed plans for Nintendo 3DS XL this morning, a new and larger model of Nintendo 3DS. The XL model comes with a 90 per cent larger screens, and increased battery time (6.5 hours compared to 3.5 hours), and the SDHC card that is included is 4 gb compared to 2 gb.
A strange decision from Nintendo is that the unit will be sold without a charger so either you have to buy one separately, or use your Nintendo 3DS charger. Another strange decision is that it won't come with Circle Pad Pro built in, so you'll still have to use an add-on if you want a second analogue.
Nintendo 3DS XL will launch in Europe on July 28, and while there is no price yet it will cost $199 in the US where it launches in August, so expect to pay a slight premium once it arrives compared to the standard Nintendo 3DS.
