Yesterday it was announced that Canadian developers Six Slant Games (Socom: Confrontation) were hit by layoffs, today rumours surface as to the reasons for this. The developer was rumoured to work on Star Wars Battlefront Online for Lucasarts, but as it became clear that the game would not be done in 2010, Lucasarts opted to cancel the project, according to Kotaku's sources. The reason for this was that Lucasarts already had a bunch of Star Wars titles slated for 2011.
This is the second straight Star Wars Battlefront title to have the plug pulled by Lucasarts after Free Radical's Star Wars Battlefront III was canned last year.
