Facebook has scrapped its Credits scheme, preferring instead to allow their partners to implement monthly subscription fees for apps used on the social networking site.
Facebook Credits were implemented back in 2011, but the system has become largely redundant, with most opting to deal with local currencies over the one established for the site.
The subscription-based financial model will already be familiar to many gamers, and with individual developers able to set their own subscription rates in the future, it is likely to mean more flexibility for devs and gamers alike.
Any users who have credits remaining on gift cards will be able to transfer that credit into their local currency.
