As a Swede, I hardly have any clue who Doctor Who really is. He's a doctor, I got that part, and he travels around in time and space in a phone booth...? Then he meets aliens that go "exterminate!" and zaps people? It all sounds very complicated. Not House M.D. vs a monkey-complicated, but still pretty odd.
Anyway, for those of you out there that can't get enough of the phone booth lovin' doctor, Sumo Digital and BBC are collaborating to bring you four downloadable "interactive episodes" (their term, not ours) called Doctor Who: The Adventure Games. These episodes will be free, and the press release is filled with all kinds of happy-go-lucky quotes like "we'll be taking you to places you've only ever dreamed about seeing" and "we're aiming to encourage the family to gather round the PC or Mac in the same way they do the television."
Charles Cecil, the man behind games like Beneath A Steel Sky and Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars, is on for the ride as executive producer.
