Both Sony and Microsoft constantly update their consoles, both with minor technical bug fixing, and with major graphical UI overhauls, that adds tons of new features. Sony is readying one of the bigger ones for the PlayStation 4 as we speak, but they need the help of the players to test it.
They've therefore issued the following statement on PlayStation Blog:
"Calling all beta testers! Before we launch our next major system software update for PlayStation 4, we're running a beta program to test its functionality. If you'd like a sneak peek at the features and help give us feedback on ways to improve it, sign up today."
You can sign up for a first look at the new software update right here. The test will begin on September 2nd, and afterwards it's possible to roll back to system version 2.57.
