Here's a tantalising prospect for players of Blizzard's MOBA, Heroes of the Storm: it might not be long before characters from other Activision and Blizzard IPs make it into the game.

In an interview with IGN Benelux, Blizzard's Kaeo Milker admitted that there's plenty of opportunity to borrow characters from different IPs, and confirmed that they're already looking at Overwatch.

"There are lots of opportunities between all the games," said Milker (via Google Translate). "We are only at the tip of the iceberg watching the potential of that. We are all very excited about each other's games."

One game that might have characters jumping ship sooner rather than later is Overwatch. Milker also told the site that it can take between six and twelve months to balance a character properly:

"In the early development phase of Heroes of the Storm, we made arrangements with various teams, especially the groups working on new content or a new IP [like] Overwatch."

Of course, it's not just Blizzard characters that this might be applied to, and there's potential for a characters from Call of Duty, Destiny, and Prototype (and plenty more besides) to make the jump to Heroes of the Storm.
