The Metal Gear Solid V versions compared

Well, most of them anyway.

By now the new console generation has established a firm grip on the gaming industry, but there's still many players that have yet to make an upgrade. For this reason old-gen versions of the biggest games are still being produced and graphics comparisons are still relevant.

In that spirit Konami has provided screenshots comparing most versions of their upcoming game, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, giving us the opportunity to examine the differences.

Be warned, however, as they have (for some reason) have left out what is perhaps the most interesting comparison - PS4 and Xbox One - and we're finding it hard to believe that the differences between new-gen and old-gen versions in fact are as small as the attached images show.

Our fingers are crossed that the images are representative of the genuine differences, and not taken in locations that highlight the old-gen version in the best possible light.

A more conclusive comparison will be possible once footage from all versions is released (at which point we will find out what the frame-rates will be like), but for now here are the images:
