At Blizzard's press conference in Gamescom the studio announced new content for Heroes of the Storm. To be moe exact, three new heroes and a brand new battlefield. They're bringing in characters from familiar series such as Diablo and Starcraft II.
The first hero to be announced is a monk called Khazarim, who jumps into the action via the Diablo series. He's a support character who can specialise either in doing bonus damage, healing himself through combat, or restoring mana.
The second hero is an orc called Rexxar who joins the battle from the fields of Azeroth. This ranged warrior can call upon his bear companion Misha to attack his foes. Misha is said to be very important to Rexxar as it can e.g. absorb damage or stun enemies.
The last hero is from StarCraft, and he's called Artanis. Leader of the Protoss, and according to Blizzard he's going to be a powerful melee focussed character.
The new battleground is called Infernal Shrines, and it derives its theme from the Diablo series. It's said to be a three-lane map, where players can find three shrines. These can be conquered by players at which point they can summon a powerful Punisher to lay waste to enemies passing by the shrine.
