It's been possible for a while now to simply add an external hard drive to both Xbox 360 and Xbox One, thus increasing storage space. However, some people only want official stuff, and therefore Microsoft has now teamed up with the data storage specialists Seagate to release an official peripheral.

According to Major Nelson it has 2TB of storage and doesn't need a separate power cord. Since Xbox One supports plug-and-play, the Xbox automatically detects your drive in order to get it game-ready in minutes.

The hard drive will be sold all over the world, but you can of course get it from Seagate themselves. The measurements are 117.0mm X 80.0mm x 14.8mm and the weight is 170g, so it's a fairly small thing you'll be able to fit in your pocket if and when you're taking some games over to a friend's place.
