Elite players on Xbox One have plenty to look forward to this evening, with the CQC (Close Quarters Combat) update that brings PvP space battles to Frontier's space sim landing later today.
As detailed on the studio's forum the CQC update brings with it Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Capture the Flag modes playable across two maps. There'll be three CQC ships (Fed Fighter, Sidewinder & Eagle), fifteen loadouts (five for Fed Fighter, six for Sidewinder & four for Eagle), and a new hero stat that players will be able to progress to Elite rank.
Players are also getting "implemented Friends management, including Wings, Voice Chat and GamerCards," and various optimisations including "improved frame rate in supercruise" (which was much needed).
Frontier also confirmed that they'll be "updating powerplay on a regular tick to sync with PC time frame." The studio also added that Xbox One PP will be reset when the full game launches.
Finally, first discovered exploration data is getting wiped, but commander progress (including ships, modules and scanned data) will endure.
