Hi-Rez Studios (Smite, Tribes: Ascend) has just unveiled a new team-based shooter with strategy elements mixed in, Paladins, a game that'll release on PC and current-gen consoles sometime during 2016.

According to the announcement: "Paladins combines a rich fantasy setting with the fast action of a team-based first person shooter. In addition to the core shooter experience, Paladins also offers deep strategy and in-match character progression through decks of collectible cards, which amplify and augment a character's core set of abilities."

Hi-Rez has also announced that Paladins will be yet another a free-to-play game from the studio. It will premiere and be playable at Gamescom this week so stay tuned for more potential details. We'll have more over on our Gamescom page later on. For now you can check out the first character art below.
