Konami has both good news and bad news for Metal Gear Solid fans. First off the Japanese developer announced yesterday that Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will be released on PC at the same time as its console brethren.

Originally the PC version was set to launch two weeks after but now it seems everyone will get to dive into the new MGS on September 1. Furthermore, those who pre-order the game via Valve's Steam platform will get Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes as part of the deal. The prologue has also featured as part of both the PS Plus Game Collection and Xbox Live Games with Gold (currently on Xbox One) this summer.

Now for the bad news, and it concerns Metal Gear Solid Online. On consoles it will launch on October 6, but PC gamers will have to wait much longer, as that version of MGS Online has been confirmed as coming in January 2016.

Online delays aside, we're very much looking forward to getting our hands on The Phantom Pain when it launches next month. Here's our most recent preview of Kojima's Konami swansong.
