Nintendo fans have already had to swallow the bitter pill of a delayed release for the much-anticipated The Legend of Zelda Wii U, when earlier this year the platform holder pushed the game back into 2016.
However, a TBD listing next to the game in the latest financial report from the company has sparked speculation that the RPG might not even make it out next year.
While other games are marked down with release windows for this year and next, The Legend of Zelda Wii U is listed next to Project Giant Robot as TBD, leading some to suggest that the Kyoto-based company are now planning on releasing the game on their in-development platform, Nintendo NX, either instead of or alongside the Wii U version.
Of course this TBD listing is far from conclusive, and it means absolutely nothing until Nintendo confirms the situation either way, but that won't ease the concerns of Wii U owners desperate to see the anticipated return of Link.
At best it's nothing and 2016 is still on, but it's also looking possible that they might now be planning a simultaneous release on both platforms. We're not expecting the worst case scenario, after Shigeru Miyamoto stated last month that the game was still coming to Wii U.
