Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro are still planning on working together, despite the public fallout between Kojima and Konami that saw their previous collaboration (the Silent Hills project) cancelled and the P.T. demo pulled from the PlayStation Store (more on that here).

"I love working with Kojima-san. We are still in touch. We are still friends and working into doing something together, but that's not going to be [Silent Hills]," del Toro told IGN.

Del Toro revealed that the now cancelled Silent Hills was still only "in the planning stages" before teasing that they "were talking about really pushing the boundaries of the new consoles, and making the game really mess with your head."

"One of the great moments in Metal Gear [Solid] was Psycho Mantis. The idea that a game can actually interact with you, and stuff like that," he offered by way of an example of what the pair were looking to do with their horror title.

They've obviously got some interesting ideas flying around in their respective heads. When we'll see the first signs of the next collaboration between the pair remains unclear, but with Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain set to launch in September, Kojima-san will likely have some time on his hands later this year...
