Microsoft have released their full year and Q4 (April-June) results and from a gamer perspective they include some interesting figures about their Xbox business. Total Xbox revenue grew 27% year-on-year, while combined console sales of Xbox 360 and Xbox One climbed from 1.1 million to 1.4 million. Not a massive increase from a very low figure, but one has to assume that Xbox 360 sales are decreasing while Xbox One increases.
As a whole Microsoft had to deal with some charges that had to do with the Nokia purchase and restructuring, this had a negative $8.4 billion impact on the Q4 results ($2.1 billion loss). For the full year, however, Microsoft were looking very healthy ($18.2 billion profit [GAAP] - $28.2 billion [non-GAAP]).
