No surprise as Batman: Arkham Knight led software sales in the US for the month of June according to the NPD Group. They also noted that first month sales were slightly up on first month sales of Arkham City, in spite of the June release window and the lower install base of new-gen consoles. The release of Arkham Knight and Lego Jurassic World slingshots Warner Bros. into the unusual position of the leading video game publisher in the US year-to-date, and given they've still got Mad Max, Lego Marvel Avengers and Lego Dimensions yet to come this it may well be that Activision, Ubisoft and EA have their work cut out for them if they want to defend their positions.

Splatoon continues to be a minor hit for Nintendo as it clings on to fifth spot having sold a total of 455,000 copies since its release in May (US only). Total sales were up 18% over June last year, with software being the major contributor (up 21%).

Sony notes that PlayStation 4 was once again the best selling console during the month and demand for the Arkham Knight bundle was especially high. Microsoft meanwhile were happy to say Xbox One sales were up 51% compared to June last year (which should put it at just under 300,000 units sold).
