Thursday this week Gamereactor reported on the revealed release date for Lionhead Studios' Fable Legends. The date seemed to have been elegantly slipped into a video montage made by the Xbox team at Comic-Con, and since the game is coming to PC and Xbox One we saw no reason to doubt it. We should have.
The game director on Fable Legends, David Eckelberry, went on NeoGAF after the news hit, only to say that the Xbox crew don't know what they're talking about. He said:
"No idea where they got this date.
We don't have an announced day of release yet, not even internally..."
Obviously there is no telling as to when the game will be out, the developers themselves don't even know. That said season one of Fable Legends shouldn't be too far off.
