A film fan asked Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation director Chris McQuarrie how and when they came up with the idea for the film's stunt that sees star Tom Cruise hang onto a side of a plane as it takes off.
The response? "Group effort/Uncharted", tweeted McQuarrie.
It didn't take long for the Uncharted creators to respond - Uncharted 3's game director Justin Richmond replying "you just made my month", and lead animator of the series Jeremy Yates responding:
"This feels like a full circle moment right here. We've definitely studied M.I. closely quite a few times."
That said, and as some have noted already, Naughty Dog might have been studying Timothy Dalton rather than Tom Cruise for this particular sequence, as it seemingly homages a scene in Bond flick The Living Daylights.
