The latest batch of screenshots from the ongoing alpha for Star Wars Battlefront have appeared, this time showing off combat on Hoth, and once again they're glorious 4K shots filled with interesting detail.
The gorgeous screens come as DICE admitted their fear at the prospect of making a game like Battlefront: "We knew it would be a cumbersome process - to create what we wanted to create," DICE general manager Patrick Bach told The Guardian.
"When we were asked to do this we were really scared. We thought, no, this is too intimidating. And we had enough in our pipeline to be able to say no. But on the other hand, your heart is screaming yes! Because of course you want to make a Star Wars game. We just thought, okay, we'll figure it out as we go."
There's twelve multiplayer maps said to be coming on the disc, and at least one DLC pack planned to land for free after release. Given DICE and EA's track record of paid-for post-launch support, it's a good bet that we'll also get plenty of DLC for Star Wars Battlefront long into 2016. But will players feel like they're getting value out the box?
"We've been building Battlefield games with a multiplayer focus for a very long time," Bach told the newspaper. "I would argue that we've never failed to provide longevity in those games. I'm guessing that we will not completely fail in doing that for Battlefront."
