Although its crowdfunding campaign has been slowing down in recent days, Shenmue 3's Kickstarter has managed to collect over $4.4 million, and it still has ten days left to run.
Even if Yu Suzuki's highly anticipated sequel has suffered a minor monetary setback, Shenmue 3 is now among the ten most successful projects on Kickstarter having pushed past Torment: Tides of Numenera into the top ten.
In particular, Suzuki's game is the second placed game in the video game top ten, with only Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night standing above it with $5.5 million. Other game-related campaigns that attracted more funding include card game Exploding Kittens, and the campaign for the Ouya console.
Regarding Shenmue 3, in recent days Ryo's original voice actor (Corey Marshall) has been confirmed as returning to the series, thanks to the campaign hitting a stretch goal. The next target is set at $4.6 million, and that will see the introduction of a Battle Event in Baisha Village.
