The fiasco that is the promised free Playstation Plus version of Evolution Studios' problem-riddled racing title, Driveclub, continues with the news that yesterday evening the PS Plus version finally, after more than six months of frustrating delays, saw release.

Today, however, the free version of the racer (which was originally intended to be a launch title for PS4) has been pulled due to server failure. Sony has written the following on the PlayStation Store:

"The Store update today with the Driveclub PS+ Edition was premature. The servers aren't ready yet, so it's been removed while we get them ready. Apologies on their behalf for any confusion and inconvenience caused."

Players are of course reacting on the game's official Facebook page, and as you might expect given the delays that racing fans have had to endure up until now, many of them are rather annoyed, and that's putting it mildly.
