As is the norm these days, there's been a lot of debate about who "won" E3. Some people are on team Sony; the company did have a lot of major surprises to unveil during their conference (Final Fantasy VII, Shenmue 3, The Last Guardian), but many are far off in the distance and not exclusive.

Meanwhile, team Microsoft took to the stage with more exclusive games, and a lot of them are coming out this year. And, of course, they also announced that back compatibility between Xbox One and certain Xbox 360 games is also on the way.

Now that the dust has settled the UK branch of Amazon has had their say on the matter, and according to their pre-order figures, Microsoft was the winner. This is based on the fact that Microsoft's games where the most pre-ordered during E3, and they provided the following list by way of demonstration:

1. Rare Replay, Microsoft
2. Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, Microsoft
3. Doom, Bethesda
4. Dishonored 2, Bethesda
5. Final Fantasy VII: Remake, Square Enix
6. Gears of War 4, Microsoft
7. South Park: The Fractured but Whole, Ubisoft
8. Horizon Zero Dawn, Sony
9. Dishonored Definitive Edition, Bethesda
10. Xbox One Elite Wireless Controller, Microsoft

Marketing firm Synthesio has also declared Microsoft the winner of E3, and they're basing their assessment on social media mentions. Xbox dominated and had 74 percent of all console-related online mentions. Twitter seems to be the social media outlet of choice among gamers, over both Facebook and Instagram.
