During 2009, the games industry saw a dip in sales. There's a lot of speculation why - like a fatigue of plastic instruments, for example - but for Shigeru Miyamoto, the overall financial crisis is not the only thing to blame.
"I think any entertainment products are less susceptible to changes in the economy. The fact that in 2009 we were not able to sell more than we did in 2008 was simply that in comparison, we were not able to produce fun-enough products," the Shiggy told The Economist.
"As long as we create unique and unprecedented experiences with videogames, there should be nothing to worry about," he continued, which makes a lot of sense. And considering how 2010 looks so far...it's a great year to be a gamer.
