Nintendo chief Satoru Iwata has promised that the company will do "better" next year after the vitriolic reaction of fans following their lacklustre E3 Direct broadcast.

"Thank you for watching," Iwata said on Twitter (and as translated by one user). "We take opinions of this year's Digital Event seriously and will work to better meet your expectations."

You can read about the main talking points from yesterday's Direct here, though as you may have guessed from the subsequent reaction, there's not a huge amount to get excited about this year.
