Following the opening of the show - a trailer for Just Cause 3 - Phil Rogers, CEO of Square Enix Americas and Europe, opened the publisher's E3 press conference by detailing the recent evolution of the company.
Citing A Realm Reborn, Life is Strange, the Just Cause 2 multiplayer mod, and the Square Enix Collective as various examples of their evolving outlook, Rogers seemed confident ahead of another busy year for the publisher.
Just Cause 3 game director Roland Lesterlin then turned up and told the assembled crowd how Avalanche intends "to set a new benchmark for action and destruction" in their new 400 square mile island paradise (more on that here). We also got to see a new gameplay trailer - we'll update you with that as soon as we have it.
Finally, we got a release date. Just Cause 3 will launch around the world on December 1, on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
