Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer has unfortunately struggled to get out of the shadow cast by EA's FIFA series the last few years. But they've had one thing going for them in terms of licensing. The rights to digitally reproduce the massively popular and lucrative UEFA Champions League. This deal has now been extended by a further three years.

"CONFIRMED! The UEFA Champions League will be exclusive to the PES series for another 3 years," wrote Konami on <ahref="https://www.facebook.com/PES/photos/a.387561359326.169936.280573964326/10152911945854327/?type=1&theater">the official Pro Evolution Soccer Facebook page</a>.

Whether that will be enough to compete with FIFA in terms of sales, remains to be seen. One thing is for certain though: The rivalry will continue even though both games now have a FC Barcelona star on it's cover (FIFA has Messi, while PES has Neymar Jr.)...
