Action game Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, one of this years heaviest hitters, will break a lot of new ground for the series. It's the first game to feature a sandbox-style open world to explore, and additionally it might include microtransactions.
That's right, according to a rapport over at IGN the fifth main installment in the saga will offer players the opportunity to use some of their hard earned real world cash within the virtual world of The Phantom Pain.
The report is based on a listing on the Italian version of the Playstation Store, which spills the beans on the microtransactions without offering any further details. Most likely these microtransactions belong to the realm of time saving efforts, for instance in upgrading your "Mother Base" within the game. It could of course also be tied to the online portion of the game.
In any case we are anxious to get official confirmation, as the inclusion of microtransactions, even optional ones, have a tendency to cause despair, confusion and hair loss among fans.
