GamesIndustry.biz reports (registration needed) that the Swiss National Council has passed a motion that will make it possible to ban any game that "requires cruel acts of violence against humans and human-like creatures for in-game success". Exactly how the law will look in the end is up to the government to decide. The country's Christian Democratic Party has also put forward a motion to ban all first person shooters that are labeled 16+ or 18+ by the PEGI.

As mentioned, the exact wording of the law is yet to be formalized, but the citizens of Switzerland can oppose it - if they prove that there is enough opposition against it.

Surely, killing zombies must be ok? Consider the alternatives! Who will think of the children, left in a zombie apocalypse wasteland?!
