EA has revealed that the new Need for Speed will require an internet connection to work, even in single-player: "NFS will require an online connection for single player. This lets us push the boundaries of the experience we can deliver to you."

The single player mode is described as a "narrative experience," but other than that and the online requirement, details on this front are thin on the ground at the moment.

"You'll be able to choose from multiple camera angles, but the cockpit view didn't make it in this time," EA said in a separate Tweet, and they added in another that there'd be: "Rich customization, car culture, a nocturnal open world and an immersive narrative."

According to the publisher we can expect more details "in the coming weeks." That'd be during E3 then.
