Earlier this week 2K started teasing a game with the codename Advent, with the project set to be the next AAA title from the publisher. Now, after online sleuths put the clues together, it looks very much like the game that's being teased is the next entry in the Xcom series.
There's multiple clues, but they all point to the same thing. First there's the teaser site, which includes a link to this pamphlet and this image (the image itself also links to the same pamphlet).
Hidden in plain sight on both are a selection of seemingly random letters - GFIILOD NCOVO - letters that are in fact an anagram of the motto from Xcom: Enemy Unknown - Vigilo Confido. Scroll down and examine the evidence for yourselves.

Looking beyond the evidence here, the literature on the teaser site points to a world that is under the sway of Advent, with possibly some kind of resistance fighting against the powers that be.
There's intermittently flashing warnings sitting alongside statements like "millions have gone missing the ADVENT way. where are your neighbors now?"
"The ADVENT is lying to you. They want to subdue and destroy us all. We are still here," it reads elsewhere on the page, and there's also talk of "a complex system of lies and deception."
There's also a trio of images tucked away in there, two of which are distorted pictures of a city landscape, and a third that shows empty futuristic streets punctuated by some strange looking figures that are seemingly on patrol.
It certainly has the look of an Xcom title. The only question in our mind is whether this is the next game from Firaxis, one that picks up from where Enemy Within left off, or is this another spinoff in the same vein as Declassified. With E3 looming, we're probably not going to have to wait long before we find out.
