CI Games have said that Lords of the Fallen 2 is set to launch sometime in 2017, at the same time as confirming that the co-developers of the original - Deck 13 - will not be involved in the creation of its sequel.
CI Games boss Marek Tyminski told Eurogamer that sales for the first game have now exceeded 900,000, somewhat justifying their decision to make another.
"It's doing fine, we are over 900,000 units. Not yet 1m but we are approaching that. And definitely it's a good start for the new IP. Definitely we can say that Lords of the Fallen 1 proved the IP made sense."
"We are not working with Deck 13 right now," Tyminski elaborated when asked about the studio's plans for the sequel. "We are starting the project, we start from the concepting, but we definitely will be working with a lot of partners."
