Insomniac Games announced that the movie based on the Ratchet & Clank franchise, and the new game being produced for the PlayStation 4, will both be launched during the spring of 2016. Ryan Schneider used the PlayStation Blog to talk about both projects, pinpointing out the premiere of the film (in American theaters at least) for April 29, 2016.

The film will gather a rather surprising cast, with names like Sylvester Stallone, Paul Giamatti, John Goodman and Bella Thorne among the voice actors. This in addition to the actors that usually play the roles of Ratchet, Clank, Nefarious and Captain Qwark in the games.

Insomniac Games is also working on a re-imagining of the original Ratchet & Clank, created from scratch for the PlayStation 4. The game was announced at E3 last year and planned for a 2015 release, but it has now pushed back to spring 2016, probably to coincide with the premiere of the film. Ryan Schneider promises to share more news "soon", so it is likely that the game will make an appearance during E3.
