Frogster Interactive and Runewalker, the two companies behind the rather successful free to play MMO Runes of Magic, just announced at GDC that they are stepping into the realm of the social web (unless we count MMOs as already a part of the social web, which I kinda do, but I guess I'm just being a big nerd right now) by revealing their current in-development Facebook game called Runes of Magic - The Challenge.
"Runes of Magic - The Challenge" takes full advantage of networked gaming and viral communications in the sphere of the largest social network worldwide and thus, expands the audience of Runes of Magic through additional gameplay possibilities," they state, which we fear might translate to "spamming all your friends with odd invites and showing off your latest farm-related loot" but we might just be bitter.
Runes of Magic - The Challenge will allow you to collect loot-codes that you can then turn into actual loot in the MMO and is slated for release sometime during the second quarter this year.
