Star Wars: Battlefront was revealed at the Star Wars Celebration not too long ago, and while gameplay footage was shown to the press (which we were quite impressed with), only a more cinematic trailer was shown to the public.

Therefore the news regarding certain gameplay elements have been a slow trickle, and it was just recently confirmed that the AT-ST would be playable. It seems like there are certain genre conventions, that won't feature in Star Wars: Battlefront. A new interview with the games design director Niklas Fegraeus in the latest issue of OXM and reported by Gamesradar confirms, that the game won't feature classes or squads.

Instead you will be able to choose whatever playstyle you like, and while gear is gated by XP, you can share equipment with you Partner, a system which replaces the traditional squads.

It seems that Star Wars: Battlefront really wants to shake things up, and we can't wait to see the game in action at this years E3.
