Nintendo have had a massive turnaround in fortunes lately and are making a return to full year profits this year for the first time since 2011 at the height of the Wii haydays. One outstanding contributor was the new Super Smash Bros. game which did well on both the 3DS (6.75 million units sold) and the Wii U (3.65 million units sold). This makes a total of 10.4 million games and marks the fastest selling entry in the series. The most successful game in the series overall remains Super Smash Bros Brawl which sold 11.49 million units worldwide, but it would seem it's only a matter of time until the combined sales of the 3DS and Wii U version of the most recent game catches up.
