Nowadays it's standard to start your experience with a new game by looking at a download screen while a usually hefty Day 1 patch is downloaded in order to remove bugs and other problems that have been found since the game went gold.
Now CD Projekt Red has confirmed that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt also will have one of them - but according to the studio it's not because it actually needs it.
The level designer for the game, Miles Tost, answered the question about a Day 1 patch on Twitter and said: "We have one, but not because we need it, but because we want it to be the best it can be when it reaches your hands."
He went on by explaining what the patch actually does and tweeted: "Couple of minor additional tweaks, nothing too grand. Game is done and good to play as is. :)"
So there you have it: a minor Day 1 patch that isn't even necessary. Taking a few delays to really polish the game seems to have payed off in the end for the RPG developer.
