Every year at the E3 expo several huge conferences are held by the biggest companies in the gaming industry. The forerunners are Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo, who naturally focus on their own platforms (for the time being PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Wii U/3DS).
The backside to this is that PC games normally do not get the same amount of press, and with this in mind gaming magazine PC Gamer and AMD have made arrangements for another conference at this year's E3 show. A conference dedicated in its entirety to PC games:
"We're living in a golden age of PC gaming, but unlike other platforms the PC has no format holder, no marketing department, and-until now-no event during E3 week purely devoted to it",</i> Tim Clark, global editor-in-chief at PC Gamer writes on the magazine's website. "We think a show like this, which brings together people from every corner of PC gaming to celebrate the exciting things happening, is long overdue."
So far the following participants have been confirmed:
• AMD
• Blizzard Entertainment
• Bohemia Interactive
• Cliff Bleszinski
• Cloud Imperium Games
• Dean Hall
• Devolver
• Humble Bundle
• Heart Machine
• Paradox Interactive
• Square Enix
• Tripwire Interactive
The PC conference is scheduled for Tuesday June 16 from 5:00 PST (that's 01:00 June 17 back in the UK).
