Battlestar Galactica "MMO"?

Bigpoint Games, mostly known for the browser based MMOs, and Norwegian Artplant have just announced their joint effort to turn the Battlestar Galactica television series (the new one, not the one from the 70's) into a MMO. A browser based MMO that is, so hold your horses before you go running around shouting "WoW-killer" at your neighbors.

In the game you choose to play either as Cylon or human and fight about control of the universe. It's made with the blessing of the American television network SyFy (former Sci-Fi Channel, and yes, we think the new name is kinda odd too) and will be made completely with the Unity 3D engine, which allows for the game to run in a browser without a stand-alone engine. Battlestar Galactica Online is supposed to be released this fall, at first exclusively on SyFy.com.

While the released statements are filled with quotes like "Battlestar Galactica is a supremely gameable intellectual property", I have only two questions: 1. Why haven't we had a good, Heavy Rain meets Wing Commander 3-kinda game based on BSG yet? 2. Will Tricia Helfer be in it? At least I got a good excuse to post a picture of her here on Gamereactor, which will make my day much better.

Yes, I am a fanboy in love. Don't tell my girlfriend.

Sadly, I couldn't find any good pictures of Number Six when she's wearing glasses. This will have to do.
