Atlus has announcedn they have secured the publishing rights to The Testament of Sherlock Holmes, a new adventure developed by Frogwares. The game will be available on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 this September.

The game has been designed from the ground up with an all-new game engine. Particular attention is being paid to creating a versatile control system, hopefully ironing out some of the issues that console gamers have when playing adventure games of this nature.

Characters have been motion captured in a attempt to beef up narrative immersion, and the game boasts "high quality voiceovers".

"We are excited to continue our successful licensing relationship with Focus Home Interactive," said Tim Pivnicny, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at ATLUS.

"Sherlock Holmes is an internationally recognizable brand and one of the most iconic characters in literature, not to mention one of the most enduring, as evidenced by the successful films and television series.  We are pleased to be a part of bringing his most provocative, technologically advanced interactive adventure to North America for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 owners to experience."
