After the soap opera that involved Konami and Hideo Kojima in recent weeks (with regards to his alleged abandonment of the company), we're finally back to talking about Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and the MGS series, purely from a gaming point of view.

As reported on the official Konami website, it has been confirmed that Metal Gear Online will support up to sixteen players on current-gen consoles (PS4, Xbox One) and PC, while on the old-gen platforms (PS3 and Xbox 360) it'll support up to twelve players.

This online mode will be available alongside the launch of The Phantom Pain, and that will be launching on all platforms on September 1.
