Yesterday we could report that Codemasters' new first person shooter is called Bodycount, since information from the next issue of the Official Xbox Magazine accidentally ended up on the net. Today the game has been officially announced, with two screenshots (seen below) following the announcement. The game is said to feature co-op and online multiplayer and the players, according to the press release, will be "ensnared in a clandestine global power struggle as a powerful combat asset with a green-light to eliminate enemies known only as ‘Targets' on behalf of the ‘Network'."
Bodycount is supposed to have a lot of destruction, with the environments constantly changing because of it, and feature a lot of guns. We like guns, at least in games, so I guess that's a good thing. Codemasters also point out that where as Race Driver: Grid was all about the "purity of racing", Bodycount is "absolutely centered on the bullet and its impact on the world"; whatever that actually means.
Bodycount is slated for release early next year.
