OnLive is shutting down their streaming services on April 30 after Sony bought much of the assets. For obvious reasons Sony don't have any intention to continue running the service. Perhaps Sony are looking to improve PlayStation Now with Onlive technology, data and experience as well as gaining access to numerous patents. Onlive started up in 2009 and launched the service in 2010. There will be no refund for the OnLive Universal Wireless Controller if it was bought prior to February 1, 2015.

Onlive still believes in the future of streaming games and that it's only a matter of when, not if. The company faced many problems since its restructuring in 2012. In fact, it is surprising that they managed to last this long after the initial problems. Of course, back then OnLive's competition Gaikai was bought by Sony and that streaming technology is the foundation of PlayStation Now as well as Remote Play. Perhaps part of OnLive will live on within PlayStation in the future...
