At least year's Eve Fanfest CCP announced a PC-only shooter set in the Eve universe, and they're calling it Project Legion. Taking its cues from the existing PS3 free-to-play title, Dust 514, Project Legion is to be set in the same space as the console shooter, and will be built taking into account the lessons learned during the development of Dust 514.
This year, at the same event, CCP has confirmed that while development on Project Legion continues, the focus is firmly on Dust 514 and making sure that the experience for players on PS3 is as good as it can be.
Speaking to PCGamesN, CCP's Jean-Charles Gaudechon said: "Yes, of course PC is a target because that's our primary platform for Eve Online. [But we're] seeing how Dust is evolving. Making that as good as possible, and then seeing how that translates - if that ever translates."
CCP Shanghai's managing director also added: "I would always like to share as much as possible with our fans and players, but of course it then creates expectations. All I know is that we're working really hard on trying to deliver the best experience."
"We're obviously thinking of the future, but I feel we owe Dust players on PS3 everything they deserve," said Gaudechon. "Which means hotfixes and all the things we can do to keep them happy. We have players right now playing and paying for an experience."
Gaudechon's thoughts were echoed by CCP boss Hilmar Veigar Pétursson, who during the Fanfest keynote said: "We've nothing new to report on [Legion]. We're still exploring in that area. But really the effort is going to continue to go on Dust, [to] keep the momentum we have on that front."
