There are still rumours doing the rounds that Hideo Kojima is leaving Konami this year, but at least Konami has confirmed that the gaming legend will remain involved in development of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, which is scheduled for release this September.
The Japanese publisher also announced that they "will continue to develop and distribute top-quality content in the Metal Gear series" and "as the next step in the series, Konami has already resolved to develop a new Metal Gear title". At the moment they are searching for staff to lead the development and everyone who is interested is encouraged to contact Konami.
Even if Konami hasn't confirmed the departure of Hideo Kojima officially, this announcement sounds like reports may actually have some substance: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain might be the last game made by Hideo Kojima at Konami. The new game is probably just a spin-off - and maybe we will get a Metal Gear Rising 2? With this much speculation around it would be nice to hear some clarification...
